25/01/05 - QR COMPLETES ONE PROJECT AND STARTS ANOTHER
The
4000sq.m ETD locomotive workshop flooring at the QR Mayne depot
has been completed. In a previous news update (02/12/04), it was
revealed that QR had specified the use of the specialty flooring
system after extensive trials had conclusively demonstrated the
enhanced adhesion, chemical resistance, strength and lasting non-slip
properties. The project commenced in December and was completed
on schedule by the end of January. Early indications suggest that
the client is extremely pleased with the non-slip finish and the
increased level of safety that comes with it.
The same system, consisting of an NMP 1535 basecoat, HD Agg and
an encapsulating NMP 1515 topcoat, is now being used on a high-wear
foot traffic area in a major inner-city railway station. In addition
to its hardwearing credentials, the system is also solventless and
odourless, making it ideal for application in public areas as it
can be applied at any time without disruption or discomfort to nearby
commuters and workers.
10/02/05 - HYDRO TASMANIA CONTINUE TO USE NMP PRODUCTS
NMP products are continuing to achieve high-levels of performance
in demanding Hydro Tasmania applications. In recent months, Hydro
has used NMP 5335 Flexible Sealant on 2700 lineal metres of joint
work in their Fisher flume, and the Kevlar-reinforced NMP 1715 Protective
Coating to re-build damage concrete in troublesome, high-wear areas
of "Todd's Corner".
Aside from the specific properties of the individual products, Hydro
Tasmania have been impressed with the overall field-friendliness
of NMP products, punctuated by their exceptional moisture and surface
tolerance. In decidedly inclement, fluctuating weather conditions
that can see a serene 27C day followed by a wet, windy, 4C one,
NMP products have been applied as intended, without difficulty or
concern. This has enabled the scheduled work to be completed regardless
of the conditions, saving in the large costs associated with a lengthy
downtime while waiting for favourable conditions typically required
for other systems.
01/03/05 - NMP CONTINUE TO GO GLOBAL
The recent establishment of an NMP distributor in Iran has given
further impetus to NMP's global aspirations. The company in question
is a specialist coating applicator servicing the oil and gas industry
of Iran, whose interest in our company and products was generated
through our monthly e-bulletin publication. NMP is very excited
about the venture, seeing it as a tremendous opportunity to prove
our coatings' capabilities in one of the major oil and gas producing
regions of the world.
This development coincides with mounting interest from countries
such as Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. We are also currently
involved in the latter stages of project trials in the USA, completing
a rather extensive international involvement and profile at present.
